wat happan to the main character and the other survivors

The cop and the pregnant lady take off in the helicopter and let the dead have the mall. In the remake the survivors take off in a boat and land on a island that is inhabited by dead, where they probaly get eaten.

In the new 1, the survivors sail to a "deserted" island only to be swarmed by zombies.o we are to assume that the survivors became zombies and no one survived. In 1978's version, they are in a helicopter just flying looking for a deserted place to live.

The few survivors sailed to a small island and they didn't know there are zombies there! lol
I guess all of them turned into zombies!
I think the sole survivor in that movie is the dog!
