A night out or a trip somewhere ... just the two of you.
The best thing you can do, is not buy him anything, but make him something. ok think of what he likes, or if you guys take lots of pics together, make him a collage of you and him in a small frame, nothing too extreme, just show him that you spent time on something just for him, he'll appreciate that more than anything bought. i always do that, i did that for a ex boyfriend, i made him a scrapbook of pictures of me, him, his family and friends, and he loved it, he even told me, you know why i love your presents the most, because they take time, and they come straight from the heart.
Depends on how long you've been together. get something simple that involves his interests if you have been together for a short time. if it's a bit longer, get him something from the heart. You can get him a ring with the words "Yourname and HisName and Forever" engraved on it. He'll loved it!

My fiance and I have been together for almost 5 years (engaged for 1). He's always been a fan of the NJ Nets, so upon seeing a great deal, I snapped up two season tickets (one for him, and one for a guest--either me or his buddy or brother, whoever is available to go).
Since his birthday falls on the Columbus Day weekend, I'm also seeing if I could get some sort of tickets for a show so that we could do something special for that day. Maybe Broadway and a night at a hotel in the city so that we could spend the next day walking around.

well if you guess are that serious then you need to do some research
try finding out what bands he like or what is something he has been dreaming about doing and then either get him tickets for two or make it happen for him. the greatest gift is helping your loved one make his dream an actual reality

Something that he wears or carry everyday, a wallet or a belt will do.
I hope you get the best gift that he truly likes.

only you know what he likes. i would choose something that i know he would appreciate, and give it to him at a nice restaurant that you can pick up the tab.
