If the Mets and the Yankees meet in the WS again, who takes it? Bear in mind, the Mets wouldn't be the underdog this time around.

If both NY teams make it through their LCS, it will be a very entertaining WS. The Yankees and Mets are both excellent offensive teams. I think the pitching may be a little better on the Mets side. If Pedro has a good post-season and the Mets can score runs early, I think the Mets can win the WS. Otherwise, the Yankees have a big advantage in close games because of Rivera. You can beat the Yankees if you can score on their starters and middle relievers. It's hard to come from behind the 8th and 9th innings. I think the Yankees will be favored in this prospective matchup, but the Mets may come out on top in a 6 or 7 game series.

Assuming each team makes it thru. I'm a diehard Mets fan, have been since the 60's. I agree with previous posts that indicate you're always the underdog if you're playing the Yankees. Its a tough task. Their lineup is formidable and getting stronger, the return of Matsui and Sheffield should balance out the weakened position of Giambi due to his wrist.

Yankees have the superior closer, the Mets overall have the more superior bullpen. I always like to think that the National League team should perform better in the AL parks with DH, but it never seems to come to fruition.

You're only as good as your pitching and clearly Wang is the only pitcher who's performing at his best right now. Pedro's health is a big concern for the Mets. The Mets may have the secret weapon in el Duque. The man rises to the occassion and is lights out in the playoffs.

Yankees are lucky they won't have to play the Angels, the Mets won't meet the Braves.

Its up to you New York, New York ...

The Mets WILL be the underdog. If you look at sportsbooks, they list the Yankees as the favorite to win the world series. The AL won the all star game so the Yankees will have home field advantage. Right now their record is the same, but because home field, they would be the favorite.

1. Vs the Yankee's your always the Underdog. Yankee's have been the #1 team in NY forever and no one in Baseball wants to Play them
2. Yankee's have home field thanks to Hell's Bells him Self
3. The Yankee's will win.
They have a better line up
They have a Better Starting Staff
They have a Better Fielding Staff
They also have a Better Bullpen.

I stay in Chicago, so i like the Crosstown classic. it extremely is extensive in Chicago. i think of it extremely is better in Chicago than long island simply by fact in long island, each and every considerable game has 2 activities communities. In Chicago, Cubs-Sox is the only branch between activities team. Chicagoans love the Bears, BUlls, and Blackhawks yet are split on Cubs-Sox. It makes a sturdy sequence. i think of each and every team in baseball could desire to have an interleague "rival." i be attentive to the criticism of Mets followers that they could desire to play the Yankees each and every 12 months two times. Then, if a sort of communities is genuine sturdy and the different genuine undesirable, it extremely is a extensive benefit. yet whilst each and every team had an interleague rival, then it may be somewhat extra honest........they could all be interior a similar boat. in specific situations, the rival they play in 2 sequence each and every 12 months would be sturdy, in specific situations undesirable. interior the tip, it may be incredibly even. of course, with sixteen communities interior the NL and 14 interior the AL, it makes issues harder. even though it extremely is purely a tenet. In Chicago, the Crosstown classic is extensive and no person (excepts purists, who annoy me) desires to work out it bypass. by the way, once I say "rival", i do no longer recommend there desires to be any undesirable blood or in keeping with geography......purely a team it is in the different league that they could play in 2 sequence a 12 months.

I really don't think anyone can beat the Yankees. That lineup they have is just insane. I feel sorry for whoever has to face them in the playoffs.
