Canada's official leader is the Queen of England. We care for her, or at least most of do, or never think about it, but on the whole, it makes no difference at all.....all out politics is run from Ottawa or the provinces, but its still nice to have a Queen and have her visit us and have her reps here also in each province. They are called Lieutenant Governors. The Canadian Queen's rep is the Governor General. They live a good life, and are pampered. We now have a very cool, black chick from the Dominican Republic or Haiti as our new Gov Gen for the next 6 years....goes to show we have a great country......Some complain about the money wasted, but also there is income from tourist dollars also.....

Ask the people of Thailand (the king is really powerful there), Bhutan (absolute monarchy), Britain (constitutional monarchy), Spain (ditto), or Japan. Pretty much the same way we live in Republics. Except with one face on most of the money, and in Bhutan's case, no TV.

I am from the UK and it is strange that when a Prime Minister is elected by the people he/she has to kneel down before the queen to ask to be allowed to form a parliament. It does bring in the tourists though.

Well I live in the US and we just started ours in 2000 so it's kinda hard to say. I don't like it much so far though.

IT WAS TOUGH, NO RUNNING WATER, AND NO TOILETS!! I REMEMBER HAVING TO WALK TO THE OUT HOUSE AT NIGHT, IT WAS PRETTY SCARY!!!
