one lion...probably not....a whole pride of lions....yeah, they can. However, elephant is not high on the lion list of culinary delights.
If one ever sees a lion eating from an elephant carcass, it is likely the elephant died from another cause.

the lion can and wil kill an elephant. it takes more than one lion though. keep in mind that the elephant is most likely 3ft taller than the lion..haha...one lion alone will just bite and try hard to take down the elephant yet the elephant will kick off the lion

Lions are smart enough to attack from behind so the elephant can't step on them, bash the lions with their trunks, or gore the lions with their tusks

hmmmmm thats tricky..... a lion has speed, an elephant has power and height.
i would go with the elephant. imagine getting hit with an enraged elephants foot , u'll die.

I believe that a pride could kill one. But it's not without the risk of one of them being trampled. Baby's are easier targets...(elephants I mean)
