1)Iraq has an elected government
2)Iraq has it's own armies which are taking over more area every week.
3)We learned a lot in the engagement, and basically made up for all the training we didn't do, equipment we didn't upgrade, and cutbacks we suffered while Clinton tried to get gays into the military.

We need to clarify between our military and our Government. The US Military is the best, the finest in the world. We are technologically strong, we are manned by the best people that the world has to offer. Unfortunately, we're being led by a buffoon, who can't, or doesn't comprehend war, the effects of war, the fallout from making a mockery of world politics. An idiot who as former Texas Governor Richards once said " You have to feel sorry for George Bush, He was born with a silver foot in his mouth" And Yea, verily, you must feel sorrow for the United States, a majority of fools voted for this man, thereby rendering the United states helpless in matters going forward. Where will we ever get support? Who will ever back a US sanctioned agreement for anything? If it were to the military to solve the woes that our leaders got us into? It would be done- point blank, game over... You don't screw with the US Military. It's just the lack of leadership, the horrible indecisions, the horrible decisions that have been made in this "war against terror!" that have made the US the laughingstock of the whole world.

US military is capable of achieving anything. HOWEVER, their leadership is appalling and disgraceful. They have two ppl in charge making decision that have never stepped onto the battle ground...ever
The military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq is despicable at best. After half-way into the Afghan invasion the powers-that-be decided to invade Iraq for no reason at all...now Bush says he'd send troops into Pakistan if they had "intelligence" that OBL is there. LOL, is that same intelligence they had for Sadaam having ties with Al Queda, or WMDs? This sounds like a preemptive statement to me...or an election year politicking.
Many Americans are ticked that the one resp for 9/11 is free, Bush and the Repubs will manipulate the citizens to no ends...

I'm just came 5 months ago and I don't see anything intelligent from "Mr." Bush to bring our people home, perhaps that after we took out Hussein the battle against us ans among them have increased. If are waiting for the Bush administration to finish this war we are wrong, and as I see it, because I was there until they don't get a good economical interest out of this they won't stop. The war was started because the 9/11, then after they said Saddam had nuclear and chemical weapons, but we didn't find any (I was in the very 1st. platoon sent to search for them and sent back 3 more times later during the war time, in the last one I was hurt by a land mine, but my cousin, who was in my platoon died because of the explotion, so I got my M-14, retired, thanks God). Is up to us now to tell the Bush administration that is more than enough to be killing our people in a war that suppose to be against the terrorism and not against any country. Is enough to be sending the sons and daughters from our country to fight against people who didn't have nothing to do with the events of the 9/11. Using our money that can be used for our children or elderly ones in better schools, hospitals, roads, etc in a war that we aren't winning. My fellow Americans is time to tell the Bush, or any other administration offering war, that we, America, aren't proud with the things that they have done and that we are more intelligent than that. So is up to us to finish this and to show Bush and to any other politician to come that WE ARE AMERICA, NOT YOU, AND WE WANT OUR PEOPLE BACK.
P.S.
I love to se people rating poorly my answer, and everything is just because they never been down there as many were and as I was. How would you feel if you see a family member of your dying because a land mine or a missile? Have any of you seen the death so close? Have, from 4 hrs. sleeping, slept only 30 minutes? So, that's the reason I don't give a damn about the rating of morons whom were sitting their butts dowm meanwhile we were fighting for democracy and following orders, Do we need more reasons to be mad with our stupid government?

The U.S. Military could have settles Iraq in about a month. Sadly our leader in both parties think we have to be popular in the world and thus didn't do what was needed to go in, kick A$s and take names, then get out.

We have gotten soft. If you go into a war to win, its gloves off and win at any cost. We won't bomb taliban if in a cemetary. That is the best place to bomb them, no need to transport. If this war is necessary, which is doubtful, lets do it dirty and get it over.

KEEP THE POLITICIANS OUT AND LET THE MILITARY DO THEIR JOB, AND WE WOULD HAVE WON THIS WAR LAST YEAR!!! NAM WAS ANOTHER GOOD EXAMPLE OF A POLITICAL WAR. IF THE U.S. IS THE ONLY SUPER POWER, THEN WHEN WILL WE FIGHT A WAR AS A SUPER POWER?

I agree - time to disband the entire military and offer 'em civilian jobs doing the work formerly done by the illegal aliens before we shipped 'em back home.
