Okay first off, the people of Iraq never asked the US to go and "liberate" them. And, that wasn't even the reason we went in there. Saddam, as we know now, was no threat. And if we really went in to be great humanitarians, we should have done so in even worse conflicts like Rwanda (10 million dead) and Darfur . So don't confuse the issues.

Second, Saddam was a fake Muslim at best. He rarely prayed unless it was at a public event or he was being watched by reporters. He only continued to pretend to be a devout Muslim to prevent Muslim fanatics from threatening his power.

Our invasion of Iraq has screwed that country up pretty badly. Levels of torture are now worse than they were under Saddam, and thousands of Iraqi's have died (at this rate, we'd probably approach the same level of 2,000,000 if we were there for as long as Saddam was, which was over 20 years).

More importantly, the US presence in Iraq is highly inflammatory in the Muslim world. Remember, one of Osama's reasons for hating us was our establishment of military bases in Saudi Arabia.
