That is a good question and I guess the answer depends on how you want to view yourself:
The horrible thing about being cheated on is the fact that you feel you have been taken advantage of... for some people it stays with them for a long time affecting how they look at future relationships, and how they trust or not trust their partners..... Some people would prefer to be in this category for several reasons:
1) To maintain moral superiority
2) To maintain a victim perception of themselves.
To be the cheater is another story altogether. Here you create the perception of being more powerful, that you are not being taken advantage of but instead are taking advantage. For many people this sense of power helps to alleviate a void or insecurity found in other aspects of their lives.
Unfortunately... If you need to get caught in any of the two situations, you are better off here... being the cheater.. The reason being is, it is alot easier for you to find the justification why you cheated on someone than it is to justify or falsify the other persons reasons for cheating on you......
Hopefully you wont ever have to define yourself as one or the other ;-)

Honestly i wouldn't want to be either, but if i had to choose I would rather be cheated on. I've been cheated on before and its a horrible feeling, so if I did it I would feel worse. I wouldn't want to feel guilty over making someone feel like I felt.

I'd rather be the cheater, because, although it's something I'd never entertain in my right mind, if it ever *did* happen I would have a damn good reason for doing so!!!
I've been "the other woman" before, although I didn't find out until after he abruptly stopped calling me. It's an awful feeling being betrayed like that, but I was more distraught about what his supposed long term girlfriend was being put through.

since being unmarried and living with someone or having sex with one or more people is a sin I would not do that and unless you are married there is no cheating, and that would be called adultery if you are married, and that is a sin so I would not do that either and if my spouse cheated on me , We could try to work it out and see how it goes For if I am married I am married for life , unless he/she keeps sinning with others
