That means when he is 55 his new addition will be 11yrs. old.
It is exhausting at this age supporting a child in all the activities etc...at 55 He has earned the right to have "me" time doing the things that he has long since not had the time because he was busy providing for you and the 3 kids. I think that you may be feeling a little premature empty nest syndrome. Soon you 2 will be able to concentrate on just each other and that can be just as enriching.

It's exhausting to have a kid wailing half night when you have to be alert for work the next day. And by age 44 - even more so. There's also more risk of birth defects the older you get. Be happy you have three.

If you already have 3, and he is a good provider, why are you considering another one? Don't you want to retire before he dies? and putting 3 through college is challenge enough. Be happy with what you have and curb your hormones.

You're never too old to have kids. My grandpa was 49 when my mom was born and he was a great dad. he even played dad to me in the absence of my own dad.

maybe he does not want to take care of another at that age looks to retire at 65 wants to be free and clear by then to travel play etc. it is not cheap to send kids to colledge or extra schools. he is for sure young enough to sire one.

Why have another? He's done his time. Give him a break.

Besides, this planet needs another human like a drowning man needs a glass of water.
