genreally, there is a waiting period of 6 months to 1 year before donating blood after getting a tattoo. find out the guidelines at the local red cross.

It is six months, as long as it was in a licensed parlor or a Dr. Office (which makes me laugh. Who goes to the Dr. for a tatoo?) if it is an amature one, or one done at home, then you can't. I have one and am a regular donor.

Its true if you just got a tattoo..I believe if you get it 6 months within the time that you are giving blood, then you cant.
It has to do with the healing process but once you have your tattoo for more than 6 months, then you can.

I have 4 tats, and I give blood every year. So no, that is not true.
