Sometimes an excuse is a valid reason, but in the case of terrorists killing innocent people? How is that religious? though shalt not kill. Terrorists are just plane evil. I could see if it was self-defense, but innocent people? Like I said terrorists are evil.

u know most of us here in the west don't hide our actions behind excuses. we practice telling truth more often than not. let me tell u that half of this country don't agree with what Bush is doing in Iraq. so u should not say that all of us support the Prez on this issue. At least we're able to voice our opinion unlike there in the east

It takes a lot of the pressure off of yourself if you have something or someone else to blame; few people want to be seen as the direct cause of a questionable act. I think also sometimes excuses are mistaken as reasoning or explanation.

Its the human way. Its natural to start making excuses, whether we know its right or wrong, we do it anyway. I think we do it so we dont look bad or feel bad.

Because so many Liberals will accept an excuse as a valid response. Whoops, sorry I shot your dog, do you feel better now? Whoops, sorry I had sex with an intern in the Oval office.

Because it's easy to make other people believe them, and also pretty easy to make ourselves believe them. Excuses make our lives easier in that we don't have to take responsibility. Responsibility's a drag.

well...i think because we are afraid of the consequences..and it's easier to accuse other people or to run from the truth then to tell it and assume the consequences..it's something that characterizes human beings and i don't think it will change...anyway good question
