It's true. It takes a lot of energy to produce milk and it takes a lot of energy to be pregnant. It is a natural birth control mother nature has put in place to keep you from being able to get pregnant again right away. If you start to become more concerned, talk to your doctor.

Congrats on the baby and enjoy your freedom from "aunt flow". lol.

I bled for 10 weeks after my first child and then didn't have a period until my daughter was 9 months old. She continued to breastfeed for a total of 11 1/2 months. Breastfeeding suppresses menstruation.

I breastfed and still had my period. Each person is different so basically you can't base your own experience on what others did. And you haven't bled yet because after 7.5 weeks, your body is taking a break. You'll start up again soon enough.

Yes it is......

It will start soon enough, if you stop breast feeding and a month almost two goes by and it doesn't come then talk to your doctor... but while breast feeding not having a period is very common.. the first time mine didn't show up for 3 months, then the second time it was 7 months... i know a girl who didn't get her's for 9 months then it showed up...

so no worries

No, that is not true. For some women, they may not get a heavy or normal period during breastfeeding but beware, you can still get pregnant while breastfeeding. Speak to your OB/GYN, she/he can suggest some baby-safe precautions and also talk to you about your body's cycles. Congratulations on your baby!
