For your criteria on the mp3 player, look at sandisk's c200 or e200 lines- http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Catalog(1014)-MP3_Players.aspx
they have everthing you are looking for, plus more
Flash drive means that instead of using a hard drive, the device uses flash memory to store music and photos, etc. flash memory is lighter, does not skip, and they are coming out with lager capacities continually.
USB device is teh easiest in the sense that it is the only way your mp3 player can copnnect to your computer. Com ports are too old and slow and firewire is meant for mainly streaming video.
You can use itunes, if you download in mp3 format or use a converter. But I would not suggest using itunes- you cannot get a subscription and the songs are 99 cents each. I would reccomend a service like Napster isntead

Creative Zen Nano:
- Choose from 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB or 6 GB
- Radio
- USB 1.1 on Mp3 Standard (USB 2.0 Required on Computer)
- If you go with a flash drive make sure that you DO NOT disconnect the mp3 while it is loading because that will be the end of your mp3 player. I do not no how to say what exactly a flash drive is but I can tell you what not to do.
- Doesnt Skip whatsoever
- Backlight
- Tells Track Name, elapsed time and lots more
- Has a 1 inch tall/2 1/2 inch wide (approx) screen
- Triple A Battery (1; lasts up to 12 hours straight on full charged triple A)
- All flash drive sizes are under $129.99

iRiver makes wonderful mp3 players. I chose iRiver because it has an external battery that can be removed and another put in place. Of coarse you'd have to buy an extra battery but I found one on ebay really cheap and it was brand new. The batteries charge quickly too . The extra battery wasn't made by iRiver but it is compatible. Both batteries I have last up to twelve hours. I've dropped the mp3 player twice (by accident) and there is no sign that it suffered any repercussions. I bought the unit on ebay also and got it at half the price of what the company asks on their website. iRiver mp3 players also have a lot more features than most. FM radio and voice recorder and it can display pics.

The problem with ipods are when the battery dies, not only can you NOT replace it because you have to send it back to Apple- but you aren't guaranteed to get the same unit back! A friend of mine did not know this and got a different player back and he didn't save the music he had on it... the music was gone forever.
Check out the iRiver link above and have a great day!!!

I would recommend: Cowon iaudio X5 20gb hard drive (however they have many that hold at least 1gb for a lot less than the X5, plays video, sounds better than ipod, has an fm player, but is about the same price. Flash drive is a usb device like a removable hard drive.

Iriver Are Brilliant MP3 Player they are a large American company but has a niche market in the UK, Your 99% sure not to have any problems with their products as they are very reliable. The majority of their product include voice recorders and a FM tuner, Also most of the Iriver Products Include a high quality carry Case with belt clip and senhizzer headphones, If you do buy one never pay the advertised RRP their are retailers where you could save up to 50% of this price. But i would strongly recommend iriver as the best product.

Argos do a (made for them by samsung) 1GB for £29.. not sure about the radio.. but you wont need it if you have 250 songs....
it is a usb device.. you just plug and go.. easy as that......(flash drive is the type of storage memory itself...)
you will have to make a new music collection.. CD ripped songs (wma) sound better than mp3.. the itunes wont be compatible...

Creative, Creative and Creative
Super Loud Base, super high tones, light, small and cheap.
I like to Jog in Asia where surrounding decibel levels are 3 times where they are in the West...
I can always hear the music clearly.
I have also been caught in the odd tropical storm and the player withstood some rain, wind and sand.
The best, period in my opinion, and I've tried a lot of them before buying!

You have blown me away, I thought I did not know anything. but what are you trying to talk about. Why not get yourself a really good amp, turntable, records, c.d. player. I here it comes in hundreds of shades of pink and you can put it on your wrist. Only kidding, sorry, but you really need to research a bit more.
