i hurt my back and my nebiorgh gave me what she said was a pain pill but i dont want to take it with out knowing excatlly what it is. it is pink one side has a v on it and the #'s 3600 on the other side. it is oval shape and thick. thank you

It is a combination of 10 milligrams of hydrocodone (a semi-synthetic opioid derived from two of the naturally occurring opiates, codeine and thebaine) and 500 milligrams of acetaminophen (the pain reliever in Tylenol).

I'd be more concerned about the expiration date of the pills, now that you know what they are. It should be on the original prescription bottle, if your friend has it. It might reasonably be expected to be something like 6 months or a year after the prescription was filled.

Also, if you are pregnant or nursing, or have any other health concerns that might affect what kinds of medications you may take, I'd talk to a doctor or pharmacist to make sure you may take this.
