About all usb hubs perform the same way..I'm using a GE -4 port one on my older computer...seems to work fine

USB hubs are all pretty much the same performance wise. There are two kinds though. Those that are powered and those that are not. If you are using a laptop, I'm going to guess that you will probably be on the go and don't want to lug an extra ac adapter. Make sure you get the passive powered one then. They cost less too. About 15 bucks.

The belkin 7 port 2.0 usb is terrific but a little pricey. Check on ebay....they have good deals.
