They are a minority! and Muslims and Catholics have more economic and political power and influence than them, even if 90% of the US media support Bush's lobby

This is the order: Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Muslims

Christianity 159,030,000 - includes about 65 million Catholics
Nonreligious/Secular 27,539,000
Judaism 2,831,000
Islam 1,104,000

Wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few, don't underestimate the influence of money! Rich white Protestants and Jews support Israel in their tight, Republican coalition.

Protestants are the largest group by far with 52% of the population as of 2002, although the term Protestant covers quite a broad area in terms of beliefs ranging from extremely liberal to extremely conservative. Catholics would be next at 24%, followed by Jews and Muslims. Many Protestants, particularly evangelicals, strongly support Israel and currently have a lot of political clout.

Yussef,
The majority of Americans are Protestants. The Muslim minority doesn't play much of a part in US social and political life as opposed to Jews who contribute and support American society and play a defined role in the body politic. You are a victim of silly Arab media conspiracy theory crap.

the Muslims make up less than 3% of our country, and do not hold any major offices and have really contributed much to our economy or culture. So I am trying to understand why you would group them as an equal to the Catholics in this country? I think you need to take another run on those numbers.

The majority of Americans are Christians and many of them support Israel unconditionally because it's written in the Bible that God gave this land to Jews.

I would guess Catholics are the majority. There are no large Muslim lobbies b/c every time one begins to gain economic strength, they label them a terrorist organization and freeze all funds and shut them down.

The US supports Israel, not because of religion, because of what is morally right. The support for Israel is not a Republican issue, as Clinton, Carter, Johnson and Kennedy all supported Israel as well.

So, if one is in a minority group s/he should just keep her/his mouth shut, is that what you are stating? I take it you are not a member of a minority group, nor have much empathy for your fellow man/woman. What a shame.
