This is an issue of sovereignty Michelle. You wouldn't find it acceptable if another nation started telling us how we must power our country now, would you?
They have a right and that remains the end of the argument.

I don't think that nuclear energy is the problem here. They are trying to make weapons grade Uranium. In other words, it is the nuclear weapons that bother us. We are nipping this in the butt, because Iran simply doesn't like us and they do not have the most pychologically sound leaders, shall we say.
America is the oldest known holder of nuclear weapons. We used them in WWII, though much less powerful than what is available now. We understand what a huge responsiblilty they are. We have made treaties with the UN and other nations to put our nuclear weapons on a shelf. Is Iran willing to do this? We have treaties regarding nuclear testing. Is Iran willing to do this?
To sum it up here, nuclear weapons are not the answer to anything. If Iran was to bomb the U.S. we have warheads so powerful we could wipe them off the map in one blow. Iran will never compare to that. BUT, why would we want to do that to Iran? We would rather avoid that all together. I assure you it is in Iran's best interest to behave.
Good Luck and Take Care.

It's too late, they have already started enriching uranium. A country with 25% of the world's oil has no legitimate use for pure uranium except for weapons. That's why they told Hezbollah to start the war with Israel, to draw the U.N.'s attention away from their nuclear weapons program. Ahmadinejad is only stalling for time. The only difference between energy grade uranium and nuclear grade uranium is the time spent enriching it.

The process by which nuclear energy is produced is a different one from that which is used to make nuclear weapons. The research being done in Iran has been discovered to be the type that is more than necessary to develop just energy. They are trying to develop a nuclear bomb.

they are not after nuclear energy, they wouldn't have to enrich uranium to have that.
The only reason to enrich uranium today is to make a nuclear bomb. And who do you think they would like to drop it on??? Israel and the USA..... have a nice day.

No.
Modern Nuclear power plants are breeder reactors for nuclear weapons. The can produce unlimited plutonium for bombs, or dirty bombs.
Iran is a desert. They can get 1,000 times more power from solar generators, with no radiation risk, and for a much smaller cost.
So why do they want nuclear power?

I don't know who decides who can have nuclear energy and who can't. I don't think ANY country should have it and all should be forced to use an alternate source.
Does nuclear energy automatically mean bombs?
