I think its fine....if your kids ever wonder what you do at work just tell them your job is to make people smile by dancing for them. That sounds like an innocent way to say it....Your making a living, and as long as you dress and act appropriately around your kids and care for them, setting good examples while your not at work, I don't think it's skanky,

In any job, anybody can be a sellout and compromise themselves, even if you don't work in the adult industry. Are you comfortable with stripping? Are you comfortable with the environment or the specific place?
Do also keep an eye out for other creative paths. If you can dance, then maybe you have some talent. Ever tried a club that needs dancers? Or what about modeling?
Whatever you choose, I hope you get your money's worth and that you enjoy what you do. It might also be good to get opinions from your girl friends, or even practice some moves before them, just to see if you really have the moves etc. Take care and always be professional.

Hey chicken farmer,
No dear it is not skanky. You are asking, so you must have some guilt about it. Don't do something you feel you may regret.
You may also want to consider going to school for your future, when you are not quite so hot, or just decide to get out of stripping.
But if you are fine with it. Go ahead.

I personally don't think so. Unfortunately, we live in a very narrow minded society. If you're concerned about being a single mom stripper, maybe you should look into cabaret or burlesque dancing. It's a good way to entertain for money, and you dn't have to be completely nude. Some places it's pasties and such, some it's lingeire. Look around and you might find something like that.

Why would it be? She's earning a living to support her child. That's better than too many people out there. As long as she's not involved in drugs or many of the other things that go along with stripping, it's her choice.

I don't think making a living is skanky. Especially when a woman is trying to support her children without any other means of support. No hard working person is skanky, no matter what their occupation.

i say yes. there are much more cleaner(morally) and safer jobs for you out there hon. just because the profession is "look and dont touch" doesnt mean that people will oblige it. get out while you can. dancing is a wonderful activity and u get to make a lot of friends. look for dance studios that teach ballet (if you like slow and graceful dancing) or jazz ( if your more hyper). you will be able to fufill your dancing urges while keeping a clean and guilt free conscience. if you need money get a job that surrounds the same feild so u are always around it and after you tell your boss your taking lessons they may even refer you to a job there and thatll get you good references. you are a role model to your child and the child, even though they may not say it because they dont want to hurt your feelings, may not be entirely comfortable with it. itll either be because they dont understand or because they understand and just dont like it. besdies...what will they tell their friends in the future? your worth more than let yourself think and with dedication you could be great. So shoot for the moon because even if you miss you'll still land among the stars!!! :)
Good luck and Best Wishes!!!

You are caught between a rock and a hard place... I don't think it is a great choice for any mother to have to make to put food on the table, selling herself so that men can ogle her and get off at her expense... but the alternative is even worse sometimes.. Take care of your kids is the priority.. Until you can get out to something better... I guess you do what you have to ...

It all depends on how you feel how what people thinks,,,,apparently you do and I recommend you do not ,,, because when your child grows how would you feel your child was a stripper,,,,,and if you can deal with that ,,then do it but remember everything has it price.
