So-called 'palestinian arabs' weren't created until 1964 when the PLO was first formed. After the 1948 war, there were roughly equal numbers of Arab and Jewish refugees....yes, nearly all the Jews living in Arab lands (and whose families had been there for over a millenia) were forced out with barely the clothes on their back to the tune of 650,000 people. About 2/3 went to Israel, the rest else. Of the 400,000 who went to Israel, all were settled within the 1949 armistice lines within 2-3 years. Of the 500,000 to 600,000 Arabs displaced (3/4 of which left due to a call from Arab leaders to leave their homes while the mighty Arab armies destroy the nascent Israel) were place in refugee camps and their descendants remain there to this day.

Question: Why did the Arab nations not absorb their brethren....especially when THEY told them to leave? Why are there still, almost 60 years on, still refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt? The only reason why there are still these refugees is because without them, the Arabs have no cause to go to war with Israel.

BTW: for those who claim Israel is committing genocide vis-a-vis the palestinian arabs in refugee camps in the so-called occupied terror-tories...how do they explain the nearly 10-fold population GROWTH in these camps since 1949? If Israel is committing genocide, it is the most inept attempt to do so the world has ever seen....and if there one thing no one in the world would ever accused Israel or Israelis of, is ineptitude.

nope you are right i just think you could have worded this statement a little better . Yes there have been wars in the middle east since time immortal but there always will be war somewhere because all these countries have such a dim view of each's religion. i think that is why there will be no end to any of this.
