Your question is rather vague. The connective tissue on the ends of the bones that make up the knee joint is articular cartilage. Cartilage does not heal like other tissues in the body. Another possibility is the meniscus. The meniscus is also made of cartilage but this is a different type of cartilage namely a fibrocartilage. The meniscus acts like a cushion in the knee and acts to stabilize it. Usually the meniscus tears and depending on the severity of a tear will direct the treatment. In any case you cannot rebuild the tissues of the knee or any joint for that matter. This is why when a joint gets arthritic and the pain is unbearable then artificial joint implantation is usually performed.
