You can see why men don't get their prostate checked...however they should. You do not want to be getting prostate cancer. You do not want to be getting an enlarged prostate. That is painful. Your prostate is like an orange with a straw running through it (where your urine passes!) and when the prostate enlargens, it squeezes that "straw" shut....and thus men can't pee. This happens as you get older. So whether you like it or not, you should get checked out.
Believe me, I'd rather get a finger up my bum than my boobs squeezed between two cold and heavy plates til it's the size of a pancake. Feels like they've been ripped from the armpits afterwards!!! :~)
Oh and a pap smear is not piece of cake either...a cold expanding clamp and then another long cold metal tool to scrape your cervix...fun....WOW!! At least you fellas get a cheap thrill and it ain't ice cold either....LOL

Well starting from your 40s-50s, a rectal examination and a blood test called a PSA level are the best way to keep checking your prostate and catch something as early as possible.
The PSA will raise a little with age so dont be alarmed, and it must be taken before you do a rectal examination or else it will appear higher then it really is due to manipulation of the prostate.
Best of luck, prostate troubles are extremely common and close to inevitable with age but early recognition is a huge plus.

They do not use a x-ray, they will stick a finger or two into you butt, where the prostate is located that is the only way to check it.

i just had miy exam a couple of hours ago. first the doc feels your balls for lumps or something, then you bend over and inserts his finger up your anus and feels the inside checking for lumps or irregularities. i thought its gonna be fun, but not at all, man.
