I change not for the reasons you listed above, but because I get bored with the same one or look. I like to change it around a little and make thing interesting.

Naw, I like my pic. It's my puppy scratching his face, but it makes him look like he's being shy. I used to have it as my Yahoo avatar, but I felt like it looked like too many of the other avs that I saw around.
