Let's put it this way: Mac computers are very user-interface oriented. The big emphasis is placed on appearance. On the other hand, Windows computers can be customized with your own appearance preferences, but they are MUCH stronger on practicality and advanced programs.
When I hear "Apple computer", I think: "Email, pictures, music, documents," and that's about all. When I hear "Windows computer", I think: "POWER, infinite capabilities -- The sky's the limit as to what you can do."
There are many more programs for the Windows platform than for the Mac. And everything Mac is highly elite and expensive. Choose Mac if you're a basic computer user and don't spend very much time in front of the screen. Choose Windows for complete versatility.

MAC vs PC
MACs, as I understand, hold the market in relation to print shops. They do the best job in regards to the color on the screen is the color on the magazine cover.
Of course, current software development is changing that somewhat. I don't know where the market demand is now in regards to a MAC.
You really have to make the decision. What are you going to do with this system.
Do you want to be able to go to a store pick up a game, software, surf the web, design?
You're more likely to find software for a PC than a mac.
If this is going to be your computer at home, just for whatever, you'll probably want a PC.
If you want to have the freedom of getting the latest and greatest software off the shelf at any time - you'll want to build your own PC.
If you are going to consider hardcore graphics that will be going directly to print from your system, look at the MAC.
If you want to know more, email me and let me know what you are thinking about doing with your computer. I'll help give you some guidance.
There are many things to consider such as with a computer there are many monitor options. You may want to know which monitor is best - and how do you know.

Wow, you PC users are really behind the times. Every new Mac can dual boot with Windows, meaning you can play any PC game on a Mac. Email, pictures, music and documents? Yeah, Mac can do that, but you've got it backwards. When I hear Apple, I think of infinite possibilities. Apple's Pro applications are light years beyond anything you can find on Windows. Do any of you PC users know why your PCs are running Windows? It's because IBM made a choice. They chose to by the cheapest operating system for their IBM Personal Computers. IBM actually wanted NeXTSTEP for their official operating system, but they didn't want to pay Steve Jobs a fortune for it. NeXTSTEP was the most advanced operating system of it's time. Apple bought NeXT and Steve Jobs became CEO of Apple, once again. NeXTSTEP is now Mac OS X. Windows nothing more than a poor copy of Mac OS. It always has been. Google it. Go to Google Image Search and type in Windows 1.0 and Macintosh System 1. (Note: Mac was first.) You'll see, it's just a cheap imitation.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want stability, get a Mac. If you are a serious gamer, get a PC (many more titles available). If you need to have access to both PC and Mac files, get a Mac. Being the underdog, Apple and Mac third party vendors have always been good at providing translation programs for PC programs.

Just get a Mac and install the Boot Camp application. This program lets you run Windows PC OS too, so you can get the best of both worlds.
