It's not sudden. It's been happening for years. Global warming, use of fossil fuels, destroying the rain forests, etc.

The argument says that there is a slow global increase in temperature. Scientists compare earth to a greenhouse, letting radiation from the sun in our atmosphere, but trapping the heat it produces.
Some gasses are better at trapping (or reflecting) heat than others. The human burning of fossil fuel is releasing these gasses at an unprecedented rate.
Logic says that the more heat trapped in our environment, the hotter it will become (similar to leaving a car parked outside during the summer with the windows rolled up).
The Earth does have a wobble on the axis because of the moon's gravity (a period of thousands of years), but I haven't seen any conclusive scientific evidence that that has anything to do with global warming. If you think of it, the earth would receive the same amount of sunlight regardless of axis tilt, but our seasons would be very different.
I hope this helps.

TOO many people on too many computers asking too many dumb questions of too many people who haven't a clue,, and it is not sudden.. This has been happening for several years,, in the 70's it was being acclaimed that an ice age was coming because it had been a few tenths of a degree cooler for a few years.. We do burn too much fossil fuel foolishly, we do use chemicals when we have no clue about the long term effect of that abuse, we are being very careless keepers of this beautiful garden that God put us in charge of, but it is mostly out of ignorance, and it is not the cause of this cycle of warming-- may be a slight contributor, but not CAUSE.. MtStHelens belched more gasses in a month than all the cars , industries , wars , and 1950"s hair styles hair sprays ever, yes, EVER. How can man be so vain to think he is able to destroy God's earth? It is easy. Many men ,like AlbertGorlioni, like to play on the fears of people who can be manipulated, and if you sucker for it, he can lead you away from the path God would have you take all the way to voting for democrats..
DO YOU WANT TO HELP EARTH? Grow a garden, make it pretty, keep it green and neat.. support sensible conservation efforts-- not that bunch of terrorists GreenPeace. Get your state to encourage making more water table enhancement reservoirs, more lakes , more ponds, more hydro-electric generating reservoirs, more wind mills, and more hydrogen burning engines..

Global axis shift
Not global warming caused by green house gasses.
Humans did not cause the ice ages did we.

Some believe its global warming caused by humans, others believe it's perfectly natural. It depends on whom you ask.
