You asked for elements, not compounds (water is a compound, not an element).

Here's a few: carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), sodium (Na), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), phosphorous (P), sulfur (S), chlorine (Cl), calcium (Ca), selenium (Se). You'd probably also find trace metals such as manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn)...

N and S are found in all cells...N is in ANY amino acid, while S is found in cysteine...

Water

"Most fundamentally, water is essential for life. Every living organism on earth must have water in some form in order to survive. Every living cell is composed primarily of water. When space probes are dispatched to other planets in search of other life forms, they look for the presence to water to determine if life, as we know it, is possible there."

Which of many elements? Do you mean in elemental form? Do you mean "an" element rather than "the"?

CHONS(carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur)...though carbon is definitely found in all cells, N and S are not found in all cells.

oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur to name a few but these are what make up nucleic acids (DNA) and proteins (amino acids) which is what make up all the structural components of cells.
