Well, I am what you would call an EXTREME liberal.
My utopia would be a place where everyone is smart enough to know when they are doing something stupid, like poisoning our air, water and land- and ethical enough to take responsibility for thier part of messing up the world.
It would be a brand new vision where there aren't ignorant brutes and souless welathy people pretending to be part of some imagined aristocracy where they are somehow "better" than everyone else and can decide who gets the food, who gets a place to live, whose child has to take a gun and go kill some one 8,000 miles away so thier oil stock value rises. It would be a place where there is no need for severe and ridiculous leadership AT ALL, becuase ( SURPRISE!) every individual would be intelligent enough to know that they should behave with complete respect for all lifeforms.
The only societal structure that "requires" a dictatorship ( like the one Bush is currently attempting to lock down) us a structure where the leaders have tremendous fear of the masses and feel they must collect and protect things so "everyone else" doens't get ahold of the same cool stuff they have, thus making the leaders the same as everyone else and...(thier GREATEST fear) nothing special.
Republicans and conservative really out to do some serious therapy work on why it is so damn important for them to feel more important than someone ( anyone , everyone) else.
Pssssst... you're not.
If you don't fit into that scenario, well then I suggest you get smarter really fast.

Isn't that the excuse why Democrats / liberals are against privitization of Social Security? Because they don't think people are smart enough to do what's right for themselves?
Don't all the 'for your own good' or 'for the children' policies supported by the liberals have the effect of taking personal choices away and replace them with government mandates and control?
Isn't the liberal support for lower standards for minorities getting into universities or advancing in jobs just representation of a base belief in the inferiority of those said minorities?
I don't know if liberals actually 'feel' that way, and it doesn't really matter if they do or they don't.
Because regardless of how they 'feel', this is the end product of their policies and beliefs.

You're right. The problem is this question applies to conservatives as well. Either way you go, extreme left or extreme right, you end up with a totalitarian system. Total control is the only way to maintain an extreme application of liberalism or conservatism.

Isn't that exactly what is happening now with the Bush administration in charge. I mean exactly too. Are you for me or against me, if you disagree with the president you are a traitor and gay marriage, abortion, religion, ect. I mean they are out to control everything we do, what movies we can see, what news we should watch I mean this list could go on for weeks I am sure.
