No one is arguing that global warming isn't happening. The science is there and people admit that the earth is heating. However the question is what is causing this? It hasn't yet been proven that it is caused by humans. Also the question is, is this a bad thing for the earth?
You have to understand that as far as the natural history of the earth is concerned we are still in an ice age. Generally and ice age means that there is ice at the poles year round. That is the case currently.
However, throught earths history this has not been the norm. Most of the time there is no ice at the earths poles during the summer. This was the case pretty much during the entire run of the dinosaurs, which was way longer than humans, or even mammals have been around.
There are a lot of questions left to be answered.

It is the CAUSE of global warming that is most controversial. If you were knowledgeable (which you appear not to be) you would understand that anecdotal evidence does not make a proof. Reducing CO2 emissions may have little or no effect on global warming. Given that what do you suggest we do? It is possible that global warming could delay the next ice age.

A ditto to Twigg808's answer.
Nobody disputes that the average temperature of the world has gone up by about 1ºC over the past 100 years.
The questions are why this is occurring, is it beneficial, and is there really anything we can do about it now?
These are the questions that AlGorp's 'chicken little' brigades fail to answer adequately. Real climatologists still are debating and poring over these questions.
