Or can you copy a DVD plus R to a minus R and vice versa?

Yes you can. I've done it before with data (not movies). The only difference may be the write speed on the discs. For better results make sure they are the same speed (4x, 8x, etc) and if posibble same brand.

You can transfer them. I've done it quite a bit. -R is the best though. Any DVD movie you buy was done on a -R. I hear they're going to get rid of +R's because alot of dvd players won't play a +R

you can copy any type of disc to any other type of disc
DVD+/- RW - DVD+/- RW
DVD+/- R - DVD+/- R

get a dvd -/+ burner & it will do it for you
