my hard drive is totally blank,and partioned.for new op systemi have the xp home cd?

do i need the 6 boot up floppy disk?when i go to microsoft to download the boot floppy, there is a boot disk for service pack 1,home edition ,and one for service pack 2,does it matter what one of these i download ,as i dont know what service pack my instalation disk is,or dont know if it makes a driference ,,,,,if i dont need a boot disk what do ido from after i have partioned it

Set the bios up to boot from the CD and windows will take over. If it is an upgrade CD windows will ask to insert a full version CD of a previous OS (Like win 98) before it loads.
During XP setup it will give you the option of formatting the Hard Drive, let it do this.

THE CD IS YOUR BOOT DISK

1-FIND OUT HOW TO GET INTO THE BIOS
2-IN THE SECTION BOOT ORDER OR SEQUENCE
3-SELECT YOUR CD AS THE FIRST BOOT
4-XP WILL FORMAT AND PARTITION THE DRIVE AGAIN AND INSTALL ITSELF

I don't remember using floppies during my install.

u dont nee floppys mate.change boot order so that boot from cd rom is first.put your disc in.turn off computer,then turn on.the pc .It will boot from cd,no probs mate.good luck
