So far, I've seen nothing to eliminate the possibility that Bush is on the same course as Hitler. And I've seen far too many analogies to dismiss the possibility. The propaganda. The lies. The rhetoric. The nationalism. The flag waving. The pretext of 'preventive war'. The flaunting of international law and international standards of justice. The threats against protesters. The invasion of a non-threatening sovereign nation. The occupation of a hostile country. The promises of prosperity and security. The spying on ordinary citizens. The arrogant triumphant pride in military conquest. The establishment of 'Homeland Security'. The dehumanization of 'foreigners'. The total lack of interest in the victims of government policy. The growing prosperity from military ventures. Closed extralegal internment camps. The militarization of domestic police. Media blackout of non-approved issues. blacklisting of protesters - including the no-fly lists and photographing dissenters at rallies...

Great answers for the most part, dissenting is the blood and life of democracy so all respectful answers are welcomed.

I agree with you completely.

And I would add a couple things:

1. Muslims are equivalent to Hitler's Jews. Bush, "We are at war with Islamic fascists." If that is not a declaration of war on a religion then I don't know what is.

2. Hitler and Bush are similar in their use of the 'superiority complex'. The difference is that Hitler based that on race while Bush bases it on Christianity. He has been quoted as saying (also is in writing btw) that only ppl that accept Jesus (Christians) will go to Heaven... meaning Christians are morally superior to all other religions, etc...

3. Another similarity in addition to your well-stated list, would be Bush's imperialist methods of conquering nations which is what Hitler was doing but more aggressively. Since we now know that all the reasons for invading Iraq were known lies (yes Bush knew there were no WMDs http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/darkside/view/ ) then that only leaves his reason to be that he basically wanted to 'conquer' it. I truly believe he would attempt to conquer Iran if he thought Congress would allow him.

Actually, when you think about it in depth, Congress is the only thing stopping Bush from becoming a full-blown Hitler.

You have got to be kidding me!
To begin with, Hitler was forming a government to take over and rule Germany and the world. He was amassing a fighting force to accomplish this. All of Germany was motivated and mobilized to this one cause and that of racial extermination. These circumstances are not at all like the USA. To begin with, we have a democratic government (sort of). Bush's time is about up. The legislative branch of government can limit some military action and the courts can prevent the breaking of laws and unconstitutional action. Our military officers take an oath to the Constitution and not to a government or president. In fact, the way our country is now, it is impossible to have a revolution that will overthrow our government. We vote in people of somewhat varying views that balance out those too liberal and those too conservative. True, we are not a pure democracy, none are. But, we are far from fascism and Bush or any governmental official cannot lead us into such action as you suggest. Please, grow your nose longer because you certainly are not looking past it! (--:

The Analogy should be between The President of Iran and Hitler. Unlike Hitler, Bush isn't crating up Jews and Gypsies, and putting them in small little ovens. Give me a break, Un-Uniformed combatants on the battlefield are not protected by either the Geneva convention or by the US constitution. In ages past these people would have been drawn and quartered and their heads placed on the highest spires. We are holding them in military prisions, where they are fed and questioned. these camps aren't "extra legal", but they are more than they deserve. These are the people that will drive a truck bomb up to a mosque and murder 100's of Iraqis, and everyone will be a muslim. Man, woman, or child the people we hold will kill anyone who is not muslim enough.

Ahmedinajad rejects even the Idea of a Holocaust, Sadam thought himself the Reincarnation of Saladin, OBL thinks he is helping to bring about the end of the West and the rise of Global Isalm.

And at this point, you still don't get it. Blind and Stupid you will continue to bury your head in the sand. Never looking at history or hearing the words of the very people who want to destroy you .

And at this point I now believe that it will come to pass. I am tired to death of the voluminous rhetoric that spills out of people with out the foresight to even open a paper, listen to the news ( not just american left media, but truly unbiased reporters of truth
overseas and independant sources) You take as bad a line as you would like to call people who support bush, you claim us to be blind, and I am sure some are. But this type of rhetoric will never get to anything real, you are dismissed, and the responses you get will only convince you more and more that you are correct.

If you believe all that ***** you just wrote in your question, then you're a good example of someone who is retarded enough to allow himself to be brainwashed by enemies of the US. Hitler first gained power by using the German media to brainwash the German people in to believing what he wanted them to believe. Maybe you'd prefer to live in Iran under their government. On second thought, your probably too retarded to know anything about Iran.

The only people who would compare Bush to Hitler are either terrorist supporters or foreign America Haters.
It was the Muslim extremists that first made that analogy, to defend terrorism.
Anyone who would believe it, is very ignorant, or full of hate toward freedom and the USA.

We couldn't go from a democracy to a fascist dictatorship all in one Presidency!

Besides you're missing some elements. A fascist would be throwing people in secret prisons, torturing them and preventing them from having trials for years. A fascist dictator would have no respect for the rule of law and would have laws passed that made his prior illegal actions, legal. This is not happening in the USA. You are wrong.

You're babbling and expecting the rest of us to lap it up like we're morons, too. I'm not even going to dignify your diatribe with a point-by-point response. What I will say is that if you actually believe this nonsense I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.
