How do you make your normal electric guitar sound like the ones used for heavy metal music, i dont know how, is it a tone thing i have to change?

You need a few things:

Electric guitar
Amplifier
Cables

Distortion Box

You get a "Metal Style" distortion box, plug your guitar into the distortion box, and plug the distortion box into the amp.

And then there's nothing left to do but Rock the World like a Hurricane.

Buy a distortion pedal (or multi effects) and turn up the levels until the noise makes your head hurt.

distortion pedal... you can buy one for about 15-50 dollars at a local pawnshop. the pawnshop is your best bet. the old ones at the pawnshop are already worn in. get the "DOD FX 69" its the best and most original one out there.

get a heavy metal effects pedal. the company "boss" makes a good one and its around $80.00
