I'm thinking of inviting a few friends to London for October 28th. We usually just stick on some hairy wolf hands and hit the pubs, but am looking for something different this year.

Ideas so far: the Creepy Cruise on the Thames. The London Dungeon/Tower. Errrrrrrr....err..... some sort of festival? Thats it!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Another fantastic "spooky" site is Hampstead Heath, where the woman vampire wandered in DRACULA, and there is a very very old and spooky cemetery in Hampstead that looks right out of a movie (and is where they dug her vampire body up in the novel.)

miscellanous London Ghosts:
Sir Walter Raleigh, walking on the ramparts of the Tower of London
Ghosts of Lady Jane Grey (on the Salt Tower)& Anne Boleyn have also been seen there (Boleyn in the sitting room of the Jewel House.)
A haunted pub: the Grendier, on Wilton Row (SW1)
others are: Spaniards Inn (haunted by highwayman Dick Turpin)and Ye Olde Gatehouse, in Hampstead (NW3) , haunted by the widow Marnes, who was murdered there with her cat.
"The Man in Grey", dressed in 18th century style, appears in the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane-legend has it that he was murdered and bricked up in the building's wall. This theatre also has 2 "actor" ghosts, Dan Leno and Charles Macklin. (WC2).
The Haymarket Theatre (W1) is haunted by actor John Buckstone.
There is a ghostly double-decker London bus sometimes seen in Cambridge Gardens, North Kensington (W10).
Three different Underground Stations are haunted, Aldgate (only it's footsteps heard), Bank (Sarah Whitehead, executed for forgery, haunts her grave nearby), and Covent Garden---this last is haunted by actor William Terris, who was murdered there.
Westminster Abbey (SW1) ghosts are a WW1 soldier who haunts the tomb of the Unknown Warrior, a monk who haunts the cloisters about 5:30 pm, and a ghost that haunts the Deanery.
St. Dunstan's Church, in Acton (W3) is haunted by a group of monks that appear every 4 years.
A Royal Ghost is: King George II (d.1760) has been seen gazing out windows of Kensington Palace (W8)
Two London clubs have ghosts: Gargoyle Club, Dean Street (W1) women who entertain there have seen this female ghost.
The Wig and Pen in the Strand (WC2) has a ghost that is heard walking.
Sheppey's Restaurant in Sheperd Market (W1) has a ghost.
In the Regent's Canal Dock area of Stepney (E8) a construction team saw a ghostly figure of a priest----perhaps the vicar of Ratliff Cross, who murdered and robbed seamen who stopped at his lodging house.
Vine Street Police Station (EC3) has an "unseen" ghost, which may be from the plague-pit it's built over, or of a police sergeant who committed suicide there.
