If anyone has been watching tv, they have heard about Colorado City,
Why do you think these people have been allowed to live like this for so long? Underage rape and marriage, drain on human services. Why hasnt someone done something about this?

Anderson Cooper from CNN, kind of has. He must have
followed this story for about a month or more. I think it might
have happened because their leader, Warren Jeffs, kept
them isolated. He was on the FBI's most wanted list for a
long time, but they finally caught him, about 2 weeks ago.
I agree it's creepy. Most of the wives were collecting welfare &
I think their church status make them tax exempt.
Alot of the children were born into that society, so they're
not really aware of the real world.
It's astonishing in this day & age.

The government keeps a close eye on these people. However the members are really good at hiding the men that keep these sects going. It's horrible but the women who are raised in these situations don't think its wrong. They aren't allowed tv or newspapers or magazines so if they were raised this way why would they think it wrong? I hope these leaders can be stopped.

Because the whole area, Colorado City AZ and Hildale UT were populated exclusively by followers of Warren Jeffs (and before him his father).

Even the police, the lawyers, the doctors.

And all their wealth was held in a Church trust that Jeffs controlled.

It seems they were building a new place somewhere in Texas.

This is a good question. If a cult owns a city or rules a city, then the judicial process is run by the cult members. That would be my guess.

Because it is like a closed society there, but now it is in the open, and is getting the attention it should have gotten in the first place
