What are we doing still in Iraq if the real reason was never there? why not restore Saddam to power and let him deal with the internal rife of the ragheads therein. Thereby sparing the lives of our precious young men and women whom shurely deserve to fight only for worthwhile causes.

Do we care nothing for the lives of the precious young men and women of Iraq? What do you think Saddam would do if he regain power? More mass graves...
What ever happened to "give me liberty or give me death"? Is this only for old time American revolutionists? Today, the war cry is, "Is the cost of freedom too great?"

It is good to keep asking this question. It shows that we are still questioning this administration's "reason" for invading a country that did not attack us. That reason may change a few more times, however, before the elections in November. This war remains the most important issue to remember when you vote. And let's see how many more diversions the media neocons and this administration will come up--anything to get our minds off the war. Shame. Shame.

The weapons were there. He gassed the Kurds, thousands died in those gas attacks. Gas is a weapon of mass destruction, 500 canisters were found. My guess is the stuff went to Syria, Iran. He has a log time to move the stuff. Convoys of trucks were seen by Sat. Going to Syria, what would you guess was in those trucks??

I always get a kick out of questions such as these and responses like catcha22's.

From the time immediately following the attack on 9/11 President Bush has *clearly* stated the the reasons that we would proactively fight the War on Terrorism and how.

On September 20, 2001 President Bush gave a speech to the joint members of Congress. In this speech he stated....

"The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself.

The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends. It is not our many Arab friends. Our enemy is a *radical network of terrorists* and *every government* that supports them.

Our war on terror begins with al Qaeda, but it *does not* end there.

It will not end until *every* terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated. "

"We will direct every resource at our command -- every means of diplomacy, every tool of intelligence, every instrument of law enforcement, every financial influence, and every necessary weapon of war -- to the destruction and to the defeat of the *global terror network*."

"Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes. Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign unlike any other we have ever seen. It may include dramatic strikes visible on TV and covert operations secret even in success.

We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place until there is no refuge or no rest.

And *we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists*.

From this day forward, *any* nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime. Our nation has been put on notice, we're not immune from attack. We will take defensive measures against terrorism to protect Americans."

It is so pathetic that so many people continually try to change the meaning of what the President said. He has NEVER said that Saddam or Iraq played an active role in 9/11. Somebody show me a legitimate quote where he did. He has never said that the ONLY reason we were going into Iraq was because of WMD. Show me a quote where he did. If you still believe he did say or do the things that you accuse him of after reading excerpts of his speech above than you don't want the truth and you will knowingly LIE to hide the truth.

The WDM's. Every country believed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. The United States was not alone in that belief. Furthermore, Iraq had *months* to either hide, ship out of the country or destroy those weapons. Saddam knew for 7 months prior to the invasion that we were coming. I have no clue whether or not people like catcha22 are intelligent enough to realize that. I do have the impression that people like anthonyinkc are, yet they choose not to mention it. It is more important to promote the myth that there were never WMD than to mention that it is likely that there were WMD. Ask the Kurds if Saddam had them. Either way people like catcha22 and anthonyinkc are doing a huge injustice to all Americans by purposely distorting or omitting facts.

I consider the War on Terrorism a worthwhile cause and I FULLY support my President in aggressively going after the terrorist wherever they are hiding. Nobody wants to see members of our military lose their lives in this war. Me included. I would have been happy if we would never have gone into Iraq. We did, that was the decision made. I support the decision. To not do so sends a message to the Saddams of the world that they can continue. Don't forget that Saddam paid $25,000 to any family of a Muslim who was willing to strap on a bomb and kill anyone- men, women and children who have western beliefs.

There are no WMD. And yes, put Saddam back into power, support his new government and pull out in 6 months.
