I don't think it is corny at all. Most of my stuff is on display but I do keep some stuff in file folders or in my closet. No-one else knows they are there but me.
I have some broken jewelry that would be too expensive to repair but I love them...they bring back a precious memory and I refuse to throw them away. They live their sad little life in a plastic bag that I put inside an antique tin.

I'm not sure what you are asking. I don't know if you are asking if you have talismen or objects that no one recognizes as protective or if you are asking about invisible objects? If it is the first, I can answer: yes, I do. I have many crystals, many protective objects in my home and I only have one 6 year old niece who recognizes them for what they are. She is allowed to touch all of them. If it is the second, I have no clue as the only 'invisible' thing in my home is a protection seal at each door and window.

Ahem - how do I put this.
Yes, I keep hidden things around my house that I don't want the general public to see - and yes, they are symbolic I suppose - that is to say they look very much like something that they are not ...

Yes. Shells, crystals, a salt lamp, drift wood, petrified wood, paintings of the ocean, my home is a shrine to the Earth.

hell no it's not corny, however i think it is somewhat sentimental. the cool thing is when some one does "see" those things, and knows what they are.

No, the other people in the house can see them. They might not know the significance for me.
