Face value of a ticket is usualy around $400. However, the NFL only releases 1100-1500 tickets (in 2002 they only released 600)depending on the venue, the rest are given complimentary to NFL sponsors, players, and other people directly involved with the game (i.e. of the 35,000 seats only 1,100 directly bought their tickets)
Therefore the tickets become virtually imposible to straight purchase, and ticket brokers buy groups of them from companies, which in turn drives the ticket prices up. I have seen tickets go into the tens of thousands of dollars.
But don't despair, if you look hard enough you can find resaonable people willing to make a deal.

I can only tell what the prices went for last year when I went to the Super Bowl. The price of my ticket was 1200. I'm sure they'll go up this year for two reasons: inflation and location (Miami).
