Six months ago I asked here how will people feel if our President becomes the brunt of world ridicule and laughter and as usual I was abused.

Did you see how Chavez was cheered by other world leaders when he chastized Bush?

Now, was I right in my assertion that Bush is making America into a World Pariah?

Bush is making Americans look like fools and imperialists.

I love my nation, but like a lot of people, I don't care for its leadership!

And your assertions, are facts!

Y'know, I have always hated the leadership of Bush and tried really hard not to let it sway my opinion of the general public of America, but the more I read here, the more it almost seems that America does have a President that accurately reflects the public.

I am apalled that there are so many comments here that say Americans shouldn't care about what others think. We are a global community and increasingly so. Perhaps Americans should realize that they are one of the largest consumers and have very little of their own rescources (except for the "green", which by the way in a global economy means that there is less for others, the source of money is not infinite). You'd be suprised how well every other country would do if they all cut America out of the loop.

The references to certain people not being "World Leaders" is ridiculous. The development of suffering nations is of uptmost importance (much more so than the fact that it now costs $20.00 more to fill up your SUV's) and the opinions of those who are struggling against these pitfalls are much more important than some rich daddy's boy who's faked his way through every thing. (Making a mess of it I may add. )

The attitude of worrying about international public opinion is startling to me. I can't figure out why people really care about the opinions of France, Germany, Russia, and a host of impoverished nations, but totally treat half of the USA as lunatics for electing Bush in the first place. Perhaps you should examine the motives of the countries that are cheering... You might find their disdain for the US has more to do with their pocket books and power than good old liberal values.

It is interesting to me how people have this idea that we shouldn't care about what other countries think of the USA, like AT above.

But we should still impose our military and political 'might' on the world? We are the only country with our bases and embassies in almost every country!

Well, I wouldn't exactly call them world "leaders." Based on the news reports I heard, there was no one left in the room besides a collection of the Turd World loser crowd.

Chavez is a (dangerous) buffoon. Unfortunately that's not how the world will see it.
