For Avery, you are right, you can be a Christian and liberal at the same time. That's exactly my point. But isn't it amazing how many people think Republicans represent all Christians?

I am a liberal, believe in god, own guns and feel that capitalism is better the communism. However, I do believe that the distribution of wealth is out of whack, even in a capitalistic system there is a distribution of wealth, it is not forced that is the difference. It works this way The poor and especially the middle class, are the consumers, if there is a lack of wealth then they do not buy the things considered luxuries, if they have the money they do. This money works its way up to the top. But the rich have to invest into the poor and middle classes in order to create enough wealth that they can buy these things. So I am a democrat because they seem to want to do this and I do admit that they get out of hand but so do the repuglicans with their aid to the rich.

I almost always vote Democrat, but I have some conservative viewpoints that are more in line with Republican thinking, i.e; reform and/or elimination of some social programs, tax cuts/supply side economics. I just can't find Republican candidates I can stomach who aren't opposed to things I think are of utmost importance, like protecting the environment, major funding of alternative energy sources, major funding of education, health care reform, cleaning up big business practices, eliminating pork-barrel spending, and providing transparency of government practices from the ground up with very few exceptions. Plus, I'm an atheist, and I'm really, really angry over the religious rights' all-too-successful efforts to influence all of the branches of government.

Third party-candidates don't really provide good options either, or at least, none I'm aware of. Guess I just need to run for office!

Why would being a liberal be incompatible with Christianity?? Your premise disturbs me. Has the Republican Party become the Republican Party for Christians? Vote Republican, vote for theocracy?

im a marxist but according to marx a counrty must go through a moderatly oppressive regime for a short time to become what he invisioned. his ideas are sound except for the part with the "social elite". could america do it without the regime? i think so but it will take a while. 100s of years perhaps. maybe not tho. what if the GOP is the oppressive regime? and soon we will revolt and become a better state. a state of sharing and equality. maybe not tho.

I'm Catholic and I'm pro-choice, but only to the end of the 4th month. I'm also adamantly opposed to the death penalty.

I despise guns, but think hunting rifles are okay and that our children should learn the proper way to handle guns.

I love capitalism but think the government should control the oil industries so they can control the gas prices.

I support tobacco farmers but think smoking should be banned in all public places.

I'm a Christian but I question the bible due to scientific evidence. That is contradictory but I don't care much.
