So does breast feeding make you loose weight quicker...and if so why?

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 14 month old, and I've lost all but about 10 pounds (give or take) since I had my kids. Most of my extra weight is in my hips/thighs. When you're closer to the end, ready for labor and delivery, your hip joints actually widen to allow the baby more room to pass through. I don't think they ever go back to the same. I have so many pants that button/snap around the waist, but my hips have gotten so wide, I can't zip them!!

I was very lucky with my first pregnancy. I gained 28 pound and 2 weeks after she was born I had lost 35. I did not loose any additional weight breast feeding though. Even though I lost the weight and fit back in my regular clothes, my stomach was still not the same. Then again doing stomach crunches was not at the top of my list of priorities. Some people take up to a year to loose the weight. Everyone is different. But you will be so busy with the baby that you will have bigger fist to fry than worry about the size of your pants.

i also went back to my pre pregnancy weight with my 1st child in 2 weeks. i gained weight all over the place and that was with exercise and eating right. I had a lot of fluid on my feet, arms, and legs. with my 2nd and 3rd I'm having a hard time losing it. yes you do loose weight when breast feeding faster and you can even more than you originally weighted. since the 1st 20 pounds are mostly fluids and the rest is fat. Since breast milk contains fat it helps you get red of the extra pounds. The fat that the breast milk contains is your fat so that is how you lose weight while breast feeding wish i was told that, lol

I got smaller after each baby because I got busier! I am pregnant with my 3rd and have gained 10lb already! I gained about 30 with my other two. I was down to regular size after about 6 weeks of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding helps because your body is burning more calories to make the milk which doesn't mean you can eat like a horse. Eat normally, drink lots of water and hopefully you'll be normal in no time.

It took me about 2 monthes to get back to my reg. size. Breast feeding and keeping an active lifestyle workes wonders.

tip on keeping weight down after having baby: I always make sure my daughter has a good diet, meat, grain, fruits, and veggitables. This has helped me start eating heathier.

well, the kids are 8 & 9 and I've never been the same. The weight is all over - not in any specific place. I had them when I was 34 & 35 - if I could do it again - I would have lost 20 lbs before getting pregnant and started 5 years earlier.

It took me four months this time. With my first child It took about a year, because I breastfed and I actually gained weight. I think that was because I knew you had to eat more while breastfeeding , and I ate WAY TOO MUCH MORE!!!! Oh, and in my pregnacys I gained the most weight after 20weeks. That is when My morning sickness went a way. GOOD LUCK!!!!
