Baby carrots (or any kind of veggies)
Low-fat chips
Microwave popcorn (little or no butter)

I'm overweight as well, and I was always worried about that. I'm 35wks & 3days w/ my 3rd boy. I never really lost all the weight from my fist, but I was close after the 2nd, that's when we found out I was pregnant again.
I cannot get enough watermelon, grapes (frozen are fave), any type of berry, carrots, squashes, broccoli (any fresh fruit & veggies I could get my hands on). Peanut butter is a big downfall, right out of the jar or on fruits/veggies. Milk, yourgurt & cheese. Lord, I'm getting the munchies right now.

A great big salad with all the things you like best: beets, cheese, mushrooms, bell pepper, carrot, croutons, olives, etc, etc...
Splurge on your favorite fuits even if they are a bit expensive. I'll bet if you buy the fruits & omit the chips & other junk it won't change your grocery bill too much.
However, don't try to completely omit a treat for yourself until the baby is born. If you have a sweet tooth just allow yourself a little each day - like 2 cookies every day.
Best of luck!

I actually lost 6 pounds when I first found out I was pregnant because I cut out all junk food for the first month. I craved oranges, apples. I ate whole grain breads, fat-free milk. Fis IS ok to eat during pregnancy. If it comes from the ocean you should limit your intake to 1-2 times per week, but if it is fresh water fish, you can eat all you want.

For the person that said fish...fish is horrible to eat during pregnancy because of the risk of mercury exposure. What I noticed when I was pregnant is that my body craved certain things because of deficiencies. I ate oranges everyday because I needed vitamin c. I stayed away from fried foods, and ate baked foods...like chicken. I only gained 17 lbs. when I was pregnant because I stayed away from the sweets and the fried foods. If you want something sweet put some fruit in the freezer for a while and to me it tastes much better cold.
Trail mix stuff, like mix raisins and peanuts or whatever you like or applesauce. You just have to walk the isles and look for things low in calorie and that look like it has some flavor...

watermelon, veggies, peanut butter on a whole grain english muffin.
The less processed the better. Pastas, whitebreads, etc convert to sugar and sugar is not a good thing when you are already overweight and preggers. You don't want to risk getting gestational diabetes. (been there)

careful w/ the above mentioned fish - you want to be real careful about ingesting anything that may contain mercury.

just make sure you take your vitamins, and eat from all of the food groups. basically i eat anything i crave as well as healthy food like fruit, dairy products, whole grains etc i hate women who count their calories and what not during pregnancy, its so annoying. regardless of what you eat you will still gain weight. for 5 months into my pregnancy i had the WORST morning sickness that lasted all day long and somehow i gained 20 pounds during that time..

While I was pregnant my sister made me delicious desserts from a sugar free cook book due to my diabetes. She made the most delicious gelatin pineapple thing. Just start researching and you'll find great recipes.

I craved apples when I was pregnant! If that's not healthy, I don't know what is! (I also craved mac & cheese and fudgecicles.)

My ob/gyn told me about these "skillet dinners" They are quick and easy to make. They have essential vitamins (veggies, pasta, chicken, cheese) everything you need to make a healthy meal. You can find them in the frozen section of your grocery store and they are "VIOLA". My favorite is the Three Cheese Chicken. My husband and I both eat them and they are GREAT for the baby. (They are also low fat but they DON'T taste it.) Good Luck.
