No, not really. What exactly are we ruling by force, sir? Who are we giving an inferiority complex to?

The Roman Empire spread militarily, but also expanded administrative functions, took taxes, imposed legal codes, and so on.
This would make a nice slogan for anti-war activists, but the parallels are minimal. Of course, if you were to ask if America was an empire at all, that might be a more interesting question...

No .......but America could be ...Not by brute force but by superior knowledge.....If America truly was to use its force or military might like the Romans did then we would rule the entire World......We have the Greatest Military and Sophisticated Weapons to achieve World domination but we are just trying to rule our lands and merely be a World police preventing the possible threats of Worldwide devastation's.....After-all virtually 95% of the Worlds modern breakthroughs in technology,buildings,communications,agriculture, etc..derive from America.....we are not superior just have the willingness to adapt risk-taking changes to improve life! Other countries from the past ancient times also did this.....Greece,Eygpt,Rome,Mayans,Incas,Toltecs,Aztecs,etc.....all powerful countries have used there knowledge as strength to conquer and improve the quality of Life.....

Absolutely, the Roman empire had a history of invading and conquering those countries it felt threaten by. America invaded Vietnam & South Korea because they were worried by the spread of communisim.

Possibly. Although I don't think the comparison is quite the same. Wait until one of your presidents does what Augustus did and throws out congress (or the senate, to use the Roman terms) and declares themselves a God.
