Quite the opposite. Nerds appear to be going underground but the fact is, their parents are moving to cities friendlier to the brainy. The brain drain spells disaster for the cities that lose them because of poor urban planning, no control over the population explosion, the dumbing down of public schools, the closing of emergency rooms and ever increasing of taxes to support the populace left.
For those teens who think there is something negative about Nerds, you won't think so when you are 20, 21, 23 or 24. You will be so used up going out with the "exciting" studs who drop out of high school, don't go on to any further education, are alcoholic and drug addicted (most likely pot, but that is the 'lazy' drug so Mr. Wrong is going nowhere) and are spending YOUR money. If you did not use contraceptives you will have one or two children with the oaf and he is either gone or spending YOUR money.
Now a final word about Nerds and Mr. Excitement: Nerds have an odd way of becoming handsome and sophisticated whereas the Mr. Excitement's have an odd way of becoming bald, fat or skinny with an extended belly and burp their way through what they call their life.
So, Ms. Excitement, which would you pick to be the father of your dozen children?

Nerds are hot!
I love people that have smarts. Not the ones that are just good at memorizing useless trivia, but the ones that are able to think for themselves to create amazing things and ideas. People that are original, eccentric, and not afraid to be what they are.

I certainly hope NOT.... For most of the people here work for one... AND they are the true inventors and scientists so we don't need a shortage of them, unless a few people around here plan on getting a brain soon !

I think people's idea of what is "nerdy" is changing. We don't see nerdy as such a taboo way to be. It is more exceptable.
