forgot my book at school paper do on monday please help. question is what are thre main jobs of the govrnment?

it asks for five main jobs on the paper.

where can i go on the internet to find this info. i have looked and had no luck.

In the U.S.,
The Executive is the President: He has the power to enact laws. I.e. to decide how laws will actually be applied using government resources.
The Legislative is Congress: They present bills of laws and vote on whether they should be a)modified for later readings b) enacted as law.
The Judiciary is the Courts: They apply the laws case-by-case. In the U.S., and other countries where common law is used, they also have a power to interpret the laws by setting precedents.

The main job of the present government is to plan invasion of other countries - Afghanistan (done), Iraq(done), and under planning - Iran, Syria, North Korea, Pakistan.... the list will go on!

As for a truly responsible government (wonder when we will have one), the basic responsibility is to ensure proper governance of the country, which includes meeting the basic needs of its citizens!
