now that i have pretty much had that question answered i am interested in the game...is this a pc game only or is there a version for PS2?

Yes you can get the original game Silent Hill that was released on the Play Station in 1999. You can play Play Station 1 games in a PS2. Also you can get every sequel on the PS2. All the way up to Silent Hill 4. There is going to be a Silent Hill 5 unfortunately the platform is going to be the Sony PS3.

The Silent Hill series debuted on the PlayStation 1. Silent Hill 2 went multi-platform (PS2, X-box, PC) This title got extra storyline material when it was placed in the greatest hits section of the PS2 & X-Box. SIlent Hill 3 was only on PS2 & PC. SIlent Hill 4 was released the same way SH2 was. The next 2 installments, Silent Hill: Origins & Silent Hill 5 are still in development. SH:O is PSP exclusive (at least for now) and SH5 is coming for the all next-gen consoles and possibly for PC.

I LIKE THE games that are only for ps2 and ps3 and yes the orginal silent hill till the 3rd one are for ps1&2 oak!?
i think the 4th one is available on pc i think not sure

www.onsaletag.com has thousands of retro ps 1 games avail. they probly have silent hill. and the strategy guide.
