You know..Mr R.. I have had exact experience with a co-worker. We had a woman who had an odor.. a really bad one. I got everyone in the dept to call human resources and report her.. I mean her odor was bad...and I caught her sitting at my desk one day.. I had to wheel my chair to someone else's office and take theirs.
Mgt addressed her odor problem many times, but she claimed it was a "disease" she could not control. Mgt found another reason to fire her so she is gone now.
But seriously... we would "fabreeze" her cubicle at night to help with the odor.

I once worked with this man who had a real odor problem. The other employees came to me and complained nobody wanted to work with him because of his smell. I didnt want to be the one to tell him though... but I did and it was the hardest thing ever.

Yes. We even left deordorant & soap at his workstation still didn't get the HINT. So we went to our supervisor who was also his brother to take of it. Worked for about a week, then the odor came back.

I once worked at this doctors office where every time this certain patient came in (at least once a week), every where he sat, he left a greasy spot that smelled like the worst @$$ funk you'd ever want to smell and we had to spray 1/2 a can of lysol in each room he went in after each visit. It was soooo sick!!!!

YES ~ I have NEVER smelled anything like that before or after either. We would go places together and I would actually let them smoke in my car because I preferred that smell over the body smell. Now that is really gross.

Yes.
Try being the person that has the responsibility of telling that person that they have a body odor problem. Not pleasant.

Yes I have to keep from throwing up when I'm around him. The bad thing is that he knows because he'll make a comment about it. When he's around I have to remember to breath through my mouth.
