Most people today have chosen to be liberal or conservative based on a moral issue and not a political issue. Abortion and gay rights are how people are drawing the line these days between liberal and conservative. This plays right into the hands of the right and the left by eliminating the center, the moderate.
Basic liberal concept: wealth redistribution.
Basic conservative concept: wealth accumulation.
Both concepts involve taking money away from the middle-class. For years these two forces were kept in check by the moderate middle-class. Liberal and conservative forces successfully split the moderate middle-class by introducing moral issues into the political arena, which caused many moderates to choose sides.
Today liberals and conservatives dominate the congress. The middle class is no longer represented and is being raped by both sides.
Your question about mindless rhetoric applies to both sides of the aisle. If you believe you are being represented by the conservative wing of the Republican party, you are sadly mistaken. Anyone who thinks they are a liberal is also mistaken.

I see a lot what of conservatives say as mindless rhetoric. I don't see what conservatives say backed up by facts, rather they mudsling anybody who dares to disagree with them. You're singling out the wrong group.

The same can be said about the conservatives. It's all about who is asked and what individuals believe the "facts" are.
But you don't care. Your bias question shows that anything anyone will post doesn't matter. You simply want attention. Such immaturity dosen't look good to the conservatives to have you on their side, does it?

Fact: you haven't given me an example of "mindless rhetoric" so I can't answer your question.

Chill! Both sides spew their propaganda. Liberals claim there's nothing wrong with Social Security. Conservatives say abortionists and gays eat babies. Everyone is just so divided these days; we cannot forget that liberal or conservative we're all American, and must rise above our petty differences.

Most of what they say is mindless rhetoric. They are so consumed with hate, that most of their comments come from the "talking points" on lib websites. They get some things right every once in a while - they know today is Friday...we have to give them that!

You a right-wing personal lib hater who spews dishonest generalizations is what you meant.

Why do so many conservatives here say everything is so rosy and all conservative rhetoric is so so true? Please. It's a drug.

Are you aware that the word "vengeance" has another "e" in it? If it's going to be your Yahoo ID, you might want to spellcheck it.
