Too much. Too much money for no positive result. We've left Afganistan hanging while King George chased a will-of-the-whisp in Iraq to the point that the Taliban might take back the country since the paisanos can't see any positive results for having a "democracy". All the money spent on the military has been wasted even though the soldiers weren't given the equipment they needed to be effective and protect themselves.

But the real loss hasn't been money. Congress wastes billions faster than you can sneeze. We lost all the "currency" that we gained from the 9/11 attack where many countries lost nationals since the Twin Towers were a center of international trade. The Constitution guarantees of liberty are being shreded by fear-mongers. Our society is losing because disent which has been the keynote of our political system is being stifled by name calling and the threat of police state tactics.

As I said, the Iraq war is costing us too much.

Theoretically, but if you offset the cost of being able to control the world's oil market potentially over the next 20 to 100 years that's peanuts. Not only that but if the whole situation hadn't been engineered (since the first Gulf war that gave us stable oil prices all through the 90's and beyond), then Russia would have become the next big controlling factor for who knows how long.
The undeclared war is wrong, illegal, unethical, immoral and unsustainable, but by the time American corporations claw back all the money for rebuilding Iraq (and probably the entire Middle East) you will be 'quids in' and possibly set up with another century worth of cheap energy.

The war in Iraq is costing you plenty in American lives. The war has created more terrorist then ever before. The war has made the world very unsafe for the Americans who cherish there freedom. The war has shown that the Americans are incapable of handling world affairs without resorting to violence. It has shown the world the Americans thrive on the blood of Iraq wemen and children (to get to our oil) The war has shown that the biggest terrorist in the universe is America. WHO GIVES A DAMN WHAT IT COST THE AMERICAN TAX PAYER
