I owned a small mazda two door about 6 yrs ago and it died on me 3 months after I bought it, that might be due to the crooked company that sold it to me, they look good on TV though. I liked that little Mazda til it was too soon gone.

Mazda are very realiable car. You are talking about the MX5 or Miata? I drive one of those, it's 12 yrs old and still running sweet.

Mazda is a Japanese company. Ford has an alliance with Mazda, and, as others have said, has a controlling interest in the company.

Mazda manufactures cars all over the world, including in the US in Flat Rock, MI. (A joint effort with Ford). (for those geographically curious, Michigan is the US state, the lower peninsula of which looks like a mitten and is surrounded by some of the Great Lakes. Flat Rock is down in the lower right part of the state. )

Mazda is Japanese. If you bought new, you had a lemon, and Mazda would have made good (if bought in the US, at least). Sounds like you bought it used - it was probably a reclaim from a total loss or from a flood.

Caveat emptor.

u can look up the answer on Wikapedia, but Mazda is a primarily owned Japanese vehicle. Ford has a 2.1% interest only. There r 3 top models...one being a CX-5 which is top rated for mileage, safety, reliability & price.
