Shy people do not speak up to get known. Most people don't care enough to draw them out. That is not hate, it is indifference.

shy people aren't hated. In fact, people tend to think shy people hate them. Please understand, none of us is a mind reader; and when you see someone standing off, and not interacting, most people tend to view that as a sign that the person isn't shy, but thinks of herself as being better than others.
Shy people know this isn't true, but how are the rest of us supposed to know the difference.

No, shy people are hardly noticed by most people. You have to be aware of something to be able to "hate" it.

No. They are just not talked to because shy people appear not to want to bother with other people, even though they might not know how.

No just misunderstood. Sometimes when a person is shy, they can be mistaken for stuck-up or cranky because they don't perform normal social interactions.

Hate is a strong word, but I would say, overlooked, walked on and disrespected. I know from personal experience.

Unlikely, unless they are so painfully shy they're notorious for it. Either way they aren't noticed much.
