Asbestos was taken off the market, lead is no longer put into paint, fluorocarbons are no longer used in aerosol cans. There have been many things over the years that have been taken off the market because they were determined to be bad for you. Cigarettes easily fall into the same category as the items I have mentioned and many others. I don't blame big tobacco alone. I also blame the federal government and state governments that continue to tax these dangerous products and make a handsome profit from them. I can't think of any other item in recent memory that has been studied so thoroughly, and proven to be so bad for anyone exposed to them directly or indirectly. It's not big tobacco that profits from the increase in the taxes, it's the government that does. So you can't lay this at the feet of smokers without bringing the federal and state governments into the debate.
Taxes on tobacco products=CASH COW!

Because they do not have the courage to quit , once they were addicted to the product . Tobacco companies are known to put additives in the cigarettes so that the more you smoke the more you need to smoke . The FDA cancels health products and permits you to feel free to get cancer from toxic carcinogens . It would be a joke if it was not a matter of life and death . And breathing .

Before a person actually "gets" cancer, they are aware of the outcome, and either quit or continue. "Some" people, for whatever reason, decide to bring a law suit into the picture once they "have" cancer, because it's easier to blame the tobacco company than their own choice not to quit. Smoking is soooo hard to quit because it's sooo addicting. But if they "truely" want to quit, they will. My husband was 44 years old when he died from smoking....he only blamed himself.

Because unlike liquor & some other products the tobaco companies misled consumers for decades, they even went so far as to say cigarettes were healthy, things like menthols are therapudic, they even lied to congress, they had paid stooge doctors on the payroll. they were afraid if the truth were known nobody would smoke, talk about not knowing your market, history has proved the opposite to be true, surveys have been done & some people say they would even smoke brands with deadly names like coffin nails, I have always maintained that if the tobaco companies would have just been up front & said hey these things maybe bad for you buyer beware use at your own risk. they would have never suffered a lack of business and would have been free from responsibility.

It is so hard to quit smoking. I have been trying for a while. I know it is my fault I smoke, but it would be easier if it wasn't around. I guess people just want to look at others instead of taking the blame their self.

by way of fact they don't have the braveness to end , while they have been addicted to the product . Tobacco firms are recognized to place aspects interior the cigarettes purely so the extra you smoke the extra you're able to smoke . The FDA cancels well-being merchandise and facilitates you to think of loose to get cancer from poisonous maximum cancers inflicting brokers . it would desire to be a shaggy dogs tale if it was once now no longer an argument of life and loss of life . And respiration .

I am a smoker and I don't blame anyone but myself for picking up that first cigarette and smoking it. (I'm currently trying to quit) None of these tobacco companies have control over my actions, therefore, I have noone to blame except me!

For most, it's the easy way out. Like that dumb ***** that sued McD's for serving her hot coffee cause she burned herself...people will find any reason to get something for free. It's so much better pointing the finger at others for YOUR actions, I guess?

Have a glorious day!

People never want to take responsiblity for anything anymore. It's only a matter of time until there is class-action law suits against the Jack Daniels distillery and the Sam Adams brewery for causing liver failure. It's too easy to place the blame on someone else.

Tobacco is an addictive drug that is difficult to quit. However, in this day and age of awareness, the likelihood of winning in a court of law for an informed decision YOU made, isn't going to happen.

Because they can't handle blaming themselves for not quitting... *I'm an ex-smoker with no health problems*
